Maungdaw, Arakan State: The authority – Burmese border guard police (BGP) – from Aley Than Kyaw, is listing and taking photograph of repairing houses who had already repaired houses recently, Mohin from Maungdaw said. A team of Aley Than Kyaw BGP camp went to Khonzabill village and listed houses of Rohingya on March 31, he more added.
After listing and taking photograph, the BGP asked the owners of houses about the permission to build houses and issuing department, said Rafique, an elder from the village.
Some villagers repaired houses with thatch after taking permission from the village admin officer, Rafique added.
However, the BGP personnel ordered the Rohingya villagers to present in the police camp who repaired houses. If anyone doesn’t follow the order, he/she will be given punishment according to law, according to village admin office.
The villagers are very fearing to go to police camp as the BGP will take action against them, Ahmed an elder from the village.
