Authority not allow UNHCR officers to meet Rohingya in Maungdaw

Burmese Navy rescues boatpeople- hides Rohingya and show only Bengali
Teknaf, Bangladesh: Myanmar Navy rescued 350 boatpeople from two floating fishing trawlers from its western coast, but, the boat had more than 350 boatpeople and authority show only 208 who claimed as Bengali – 200 people, 8 Rohingyas, and hiding another 142 Rohingyas , according to an official from Maungdaw.

More than 1, 300 boat-people die on the way to Malaysia
Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh: More than 1,300 boat-people have died on the way to Malaysia and hundreds have been ill-treated in overcrowded camps run by traffickers and people smugglers in Thailand, according to Ms Stina Ljungdell of UNHCR representative of Bangladesh in a statement released on June 11.
