Six refugees injured in lightning strikes at Balukhali camp

Six unofficial Rohingya refugees, including women, children and men were injured in lightning strikes at new Balukhali makeshift camp on June 7, Jafar, a refugee from the camp said.
The accident was occurred on June 7 at around 5:00 am, at Balukhali camp, which was established October, 2016, under the Ukhiya police station of Cox’s Bazar district, he more added.
The injured have been identified as— Noor Ahmed (45), Saber (6), Ismatara Begum (26), Ebadullah (24), Md. Shahin (4) and Shahena Begum (25).
Suddenly, there was thunderstorm in the slum area and then at least six refugees were wounded in lightning strikes, Majee Saber Hussain of block-B of Balukhali said.
However, the injured persons were admitted at MSF field clinic with the help of locals. Of them, a man with critical condition was sent to Cox’s Bazar Government Hospital, according to refugees.
