Teknaf, Bangladesh:  Burmese Border Guard Police (BGP) abducted two Bangladeshi fishermen from the Naff River on December 7, while fishing in Bangladesh territorial waters, Nir Ahamed, a local fisherman from Teknaf said.

The fishermen along with a boat were abducted from nearby Lambabil area (from Bangladesh side) at gunpoint by a patrol team of BGP at around 1:30pm, on December 7, Ahamed added.

The abducted fishermen have been identified as Nazir Hossain (40), son of Abul Kashem and Abdus Shukkur (38), son of Sayed Ali, hailed from Lombabil village under the Whykong union of the Cox’s Bazar district, said a relative of fishermen.
