Suffering sickness after weather change in Maungdaw

Rohingya community – mostly children, some males and females- have been suffering fever and vomiting while the weather is going to change in Maungdaw Township since the end of April 2016, Mohin, a Rohingya from Maungdaw said.
Some Rohingya patients went to the Aley Than Kyaw government hospital for treatment but didn’t get proper treatment from it as the most of the patients are Rohingya Muslim, a community health worker said on condition of anonymity.
As a result, most of the patients are being taken treatment in the villages by doctor quacks, Kudus Meah, a villager from Khonzabill said.
However, there are not getting any information of dead in the localities of Khonzabill, Udaung and Gorakhali villages, Kudus further said.
Maungdaw northern side also facing same problem having suffer of fever and vomiting because of changing weather, said Kholil from Maundaw north.
The authority didn’t give any attention people -Rohingya- suffering sickness in the town and the health department didn’t take any step to save these people, said Hamidul Rahaman, a village admin office member from Maungdaw. “ Maungdaw general hospital didn’t pay any attention to Rohingya patients, but the health workers from hospital care only Rakhine people.”
