BGP fine for burning haystack

Burma border guard police (BGP) fined 200,000 kyats for burning a haystack at Khonabill, under Aley Than Kyaw, Maungdaw south on February 28, said Mohin, an elder from Maungdaw.
The victim was identified as— Ali Zuhar (50), son of Siddik, hailed from Khonza Bill village of Maungdaw south.

The fire broke out in the morning, on February 28 as some children originated torching hay and then engulfed the haystack, Mohin more added.

But, some neighboring villagers rushed to the spot and doused the fire within 10-20 minutes, no engulfed adjacent houses and near, according to villagers.

On being tipped off, a group of Border Guard Police (BGP) from Aley Than Kyaw BGP camp accompanied by village admin officer Sayed Alam of Khonzabill village reached to the spot and investigated about incident, the villagers further said.

However, BGP arrested the owner of the haystack and fined 200,000 Kyats in the same day, said Ashique, a relative of the victim.
