Three women held with Yaba tablets in Teknaf

Teknaf, Bangladesh: Police arrested three women with 50,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from Najirpara village in Teknaf upazila on June 22 early morning, Hussain, a local from Teknaf town said.
The arrested were identified as Nasima Akter, 20, wife of Abdur Rahman, Rofita Begum, 20, and Taslima Begum, 18, resident of the Nazirpara village under the Teknaf police station.

On tipped off, a team of police conducted a raid at the house of Abdur Rahman in Nazirpara area and arrested the trio at about 1:30 am, the Officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station Ataur Rahman said.

The law enforcers recovered 50,000 pieces of Yaba tablets after searching the house. They also recovered Taka 189, 000 cash from their possessions.

However, police has filed a case against the women smuggler in this connection of Yaba smuggling, official said.

Mostly Yaba tablets have been smuggled to Bangladesh from Burma by smugglers to get more profit and there was a group of syndicates, according to official report
