Rohingya situation of Burma hearing in Morocco Parliament

Morocco Parliament heard about recent situation of Rohingya from Arakan, Burma on June 1 by inviting  Tun Khin – a Rohingya activist and the president of Burmese Rohingya Organization UK (BROUK) , according to BROUK information desk.

The meeting was organized by Socialist International and Ministry of Foreign affairs of Morocco.

Morocco Foreign Minister Salaheddine Mezoua addressed a key note speech by pointing out current Rohingya situation at the opening session in Parliament.

Tun Khin – guest speaker- at the meeting, presented Rohingya’s historical background, current situation, anti- Muslim hate speech, OSLO Conference and international community lack of action.

“Our people are dying every day. International community knew it and but they are not doing enough. I appeal not to let another Rwanda repeat again for Rohingya. Please help end the genocide of more than 1 million Rohingya. The Burmese government’s plan is to drive us from out of our own ancestral land and, if any Rohingya left standing, they intend to build apartheid against us,” appealed Tun Khin at the Parliament.

Tun Khin also urged Morocco parliament to pressure the Government of Burma (Myanmar) to immediately end its policies and practices of genocide, restoring full and equal citizenship rights of the Rohingya; to institute the right of return for all displaced Rohingya, to effectively provide the Rohingya with all necessary protection; and to actively promote and support reconciliation between communities in Rakhine State, Myanmar.

More than 20 countries political party members, Foreign minister of Morocco, NGOs, and Medias attended at the meeting in Parliament, BROUK info said.
