4 human traffickers arrested, one killed in Bangladesh

Teknaf, Bangladesh: Police arrested four wanted human-trafficking suspects at their homes in Sabrang of Teknaf upazila on June 7 and another trafficker was killed today, a local elder named Sayed said.
The arrestees are Saddam Hossain, 20, Mohammad Amin, 35, Mohammad Hasan, 32, and Syed Ahmad.

Ataur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Teknaf Police Station, said the four were produced before a court, which sent them to jail.

Besides, a suspected human trafficker was allegedly killed in a gunfight with rivals in Alikhali area in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar on June 8 early.

The deceased was identified as Amanullah Anu (30), son of Mohammad Sofi, a registered Rohingya refugee from Nayapara camp, Block-H.

Quoting police the two rival groups of human traffickers exchanged fires in Alikhali early in the morning. On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body of Anu.

Officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station Ataur Rahman Khandakar confirmed the incident.
