Maungdaw, Arakan State: Maungdaw township administration officer –U Hla Myint – called to all village admin officers to inform about insurgent group and house repairing of Rohingya community in northern Arakan at Maungdaw Township admin office hall on April 9 at about 2:00pm, according to a village admin officer who denied to be named.
U Hla Myint called to the village admin officers at the emergency meeting under guid line of Burma border police (BGP) Director General Tin Ko Ko to force the village admin officers to inform about any Rohingya insurgent who entered inside the northern Arakan, the officer said.
U Hla Myint mention that more than 500 Rohingya youths are going underground training in the border who may be entered any time into Maungdaw township areas and it is the duty of all village admin officers to inform to the concerned authority, said Maung Min, an elder from Maungdaw referring village admin officer who attend the meeting.
But, the elder said there is no such event in the border, getting training in the border and also the Bangladesh authority also not permitting such event.
“There is no such training in the border area and the Bangladesh government didn’t allow any such kinds of training inside their land,” Hasson, a watchdog of Burma-Bangladesh border.
Besides, the Township admin officer told the village admin officers to inform accurate data of household who wish to repair and the authority will give them permission for repairing. If, anyone who informed misinformation will face hard punishment, according to an officer from Maungdaw.
The authority are not issuing permission free, they need money from Rohingya community, why the village admin officer informed misinformation and why Rohingya want to pay money without repairing their home, said Mohamed Younous, an elder from Maungdaw.
The authority banned to build and repair Rohingyas’ household since long and issuing permission with huge amount to who were mostly closed to authority, Younous more added.
