Two Rakhines attack Rohingya fisherman in Buthidaung

Buthidaung, Arakan State: Two Rakhines severely beat a Rohingya fisherman while he was fishing in the stream of Pho Kaung Chaung under Buthidaung Township today at about 8:00am, said Kalu, a businessman from Buthidaung.
Abdullah who went to the stream to push fishing net on the shore in the early morning for his family survival as Rohingya are not able to work freely since 2012 June, Kalu said.

But, Abdullah faced two Rakhines – Maung Tin Zaw,  son of U Kyaw Hla nad other- from Oo Cha Rakhine village under Pho Kaung Chaung village tract, Buthidaung, rounded and attacked Abdullah where Abdullah become consciousness and fall down on the shore, said Hamid who went with Abdullah to fishing, but he was fishing another side. “When I heard screaming sound, I rushed to the spot where I found Abdullah was laying on the shore.

Hamid tried to regain consciousness and went to the Sawsandan police outpost to report about the event, but the police officer from the post sent him to Buthidaung Hospital for treatment.

The police personnel didn’t take any action against two Rakhines, said a relative of victim.
