3 Burmese nationals held with Yaba tablets

Teknafm Bangladesh: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained three Burmese citizens with over 19,400 Yaba tablets in bordering Nitangpara of Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar, on April 17 (Thursday) night, according to BGB official.
“The detainees were identified as— Ms Abeda Begum (60), wife of late Abdul Hye; Ms Hazera Begum (40), wife of late Hussain Ahmed; and Mohammad Anis (24), son of late Md Yunus. They were held with 23 packets of Yaba tablets.”
After arrest, they were handed over to Teknaf police station. A case was filed against them at Teknaf Police Station, an aide of police said from Teknaf.
Maj Md Nazmus Sadat Soumya, deputy commander of BGB-42 battalion, said that a contingent of Yaba was coming to Bangladesh and the BGB team conducted the drive.
The border guards caught all 24 people in the wooden boat and sending back of the other 21 was under process, the commander more added.
On that day, raiding a boat in the river Naf, BGB also held 21 other Burmese nationals for illegally entering the country’s territory.
