Chittagong, Bangladesh: The event- London conference on decades of persecution of Myanmar’s Rohingya – held at The Shaw library (Founders Room), 6th floor, Old Building, London School of Economics (LSE) on April 28, at 9:00 am, started with a prayer and a minutes silence for genocide victims; from Armenians, Bosnians to Palestinians…and the Rohingyas, said Ahamed Jarmal, General Secretary, Burmese Rohingya Organization UK (BROUK).

Rohingya oppose the proposal of Immigration head

Maungdaw, Arakan State: The Rohingya from Maungdaw district –Maungdaw and Buthidaung – opposed the proposal which U Myit Kyine, head of the Immigration and Population Department, while his first visited these areas to register as Bengali or to keep the column blank, today at 4:00 pm, said Halim , a Human Rights Watchdog said.

Rohingya meet Australian chief government whip at open forum of UWS

Dr. Hla Myint, the coordinator of International advocacy group – Bangkok Rohingya conference held in 2013 – and other Rohingya living in Australia met the Chief Government Whip, Federal member for Berowra and Australia’s longest serving Minister for Immigration, Phillip Ruddock, MP, at an open forum in the University of Western Sydney (UWS)’s Parramatta campus on April 24, 2014, according to Rohingya advocacy group.

Border guard police officer extorts 80,000 kyat from two transport vehicles

Maungdaw, Arakan State: The officer in charge of border guard police from Oo Daung outpost under Maungdaw south extorted 80,000 kyats from two Rohingyas’ transport vehicles on April 25 at about 7:30pm, according to a transport vehicle owner who deny to mention his name.
