BGB seizes more Yaba tablets at border

Teknaf, Bangladesh: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized huge Yaba tablets with a row boat March 27, noon, while crossing Burma-Bangladesh border, Jaffar, a local from Teknaf said. Acting of a tip off, a section of BGB personnel from Nilla BGB out-post searched the row boat and found more than 19,000 pieces of Yaba tablets, official said.

“The row boats are always fishing in the Naff river, but it has connected with Yaba smugglers who live in Burma side.”

Sensing BGB trip, the boatman (Majee) of boat escaped from the arresting of BGB, according to local sources.

The seized Yaba tablets worth taka 570,2400 including row boat. Mostly Yaba tablets are coming to Bangladesh from Burma via boats, sources said.

However, the authority has filed a case against a local named Mohamed Dilwar, son of Abdu Jabbar of Nilla union at Teknaf police station with this connection.

According to different sources, the concerned authorities of Bangladesh had already seized more Yaba tablets which worth taka (500 million) at Bangladesh-Burma border within three months. They also arrested nearly one hundred smugglers from the various points border regarding the matter.
