Over eleven thousand Yaba tablets seized at Bangladesh border

Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized over 11,650 pieces of Yaba tablets near Chawdhury Para ( Rakhine Village) of Teknaf union on January 6, according to BGB source.
“BGB seized huge Yaba tablets from the Naff river after being conducted operation while some smugglers were smuggling Yaba tablets to Bangladesh from Burma through the entry point of Chawdhury Para.”

The operation was led by the Company Commander Sirajul Islam of Nilla BGB out-post under Teknaf Battalion No. 42.

During the raided operation, no body was arrested by the BGB personnel, said an aide of BGB.

According to sources, thousands of Yaba tablets have been smuggled to Bangladesh from Burma by a group of smugglers who live in Burma-Bangladesh border. The Yaba tablets are being used by some Bangladeshi people in the urban and rural areas.

Sources also said that the concerned authorities are trying to stop smuggling Yaba tablets, but they can’t do it.
