Teknaf, Bangladesh: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 37 Rohingyas along the Burma-Bangladesh border on 18 September and pushed back to Burma in same day, according to BGB officials.
“We arrested the Rohingyas from different points of border – Teknaf and Ukhiya of 8 different points- the arrestees were kept from morning till afternoon.”
According to BGB battalion Commander Lt. Col. Jahid Hassan, 8 of the Rohingyas were arrested from Nila; 6 from Shapourdip; 2 from Teknaf, 10 from Dum Dum Meah and one from Unchi Prang. The all arrestees were pushed back in the evening, on Spetember 18.
According to BGB 17 battalion Commander Lt. Col. Mohammed Khalequzzaman 10 Rohingyas were arrested from the border areas of Taungbro, Palong Khali and Reju Amtoli point of Ukhiya-Naikkhon Chori border. They were pushed back in the evening to Burma.
