Special court room set up in Maungdaw police station

Maungdaw, Arakan State: The Burmese authority has set up a special court room inside Maungdaw police station recently, according to an elder from Maungdaw.
“The special court is using for Rohingya who were arrested by police, Nasaka and army with allegations of creating problem inside Maungdaw since June 8.”
“The court sentenced to the Rohingyas after arresting from Rohingya villages and sent them to Buthidaung Jail as prisoners. Two trucks of Rohingyas were sent to Buthidaung Jail within two days (yesterday and today), according to a driver from Maungdaw.
In Maungdaw, custody of Maungdaw police station, Nasaka Headquarters and Nasaka area number 6, are full of Rohingya who were arrested from different villages of Rohingya in Maungdaw, according to an officer.
“There are no arguments in the special court and the Judge only read the statement and sent to the jail.”
No relatives were able to find out their beloved-ones who were arrested by the authorities- police, Nasaka and army- and they have no idea about the special court, said a politician from Maungdaw.
